California state officials have fined a small winery an amount over a
decade’s worth of profits because they allowed volunteers to work in
their facility. Reason’s Scott Shackford posits that this is just
another example of the state’s hostile business climate, firing a
warning shot at businesses (and volunteers) that benefit from this
common practice.
